Operation

Post by Bradford Van Treuren »

This definition was proposed by Jeff Rearick in an email.
Operation: an atomic (lowest-level) action with respect to a domain which implements a step in a test, such as writing a port, reading a register, waiting for a specified duration, shifting a scan chain, loading an instruction opcode, sending a data packet, etc.
Michele commented: ...Operations are either queued and processed at the earliest event, or can generate an event for immediate processing
