This applies to test as well as programming.

Any remote operations must be safe, remote diagnostics and upgrades aren't going to be moving mechanical parts etc. Our model was more of a pull rather than a push. Allow the user to pull stuff
from the web and run it. The customer is supervising so field service doesnt need to be on site.

Push Caveat
The Push model if used would need to be enabled by the end user and would require various levels of handshaking to prevent inadvertantly taking a product out of operation and placed in test mode. I would not want to be getting an xray at the doctors office an have a remote operator take control of unit and start performing remote diags and tests on the hardware. I might be radioactive before its over. Or consider Mission critical avionics being externally controlled externally.
