Re: PAR scope and direction

Thanks Adam. "Transformations" still seems to be unexplained. Would it be better if the first enumerated point ended "... and of relevant data and protocol transformations"? (Is that a correct headline summary of what we mean by transformations?)

Re: PAR scope and direction

I've started a separate thread for "Stakeholders": viewtopic.php?f=3&t=788
Let's keep this one for the Scope clarification and improvement.

Re: PAR Stakeholders

I didn't infer that there was any requirement for this entry to be a complete sentence, but I'm completely in favour of making it so.

That reads pretty well to me, Adam, thanks!

Re: PAR Stakeholders

On order, that was simply the order they were suggested. In a way, that might be reflecting those perceived as most significant being listed first. Capitalisation is simply because these were cut'n'pasted from a list where they were capitalised. Manufacturers vs suppliers - no idea. While you could ...

PAR Stakeholders

An initial form of words on "Stakeholders" was drafted at the June 18 meeting: The electronics industry at large including, but not restricted to, Test Developers, Designers and Maintainers of Electronics, Test and Measurement Equipment Manufacturers, Electronic Design Automation Tool Suppliers, Tes...

Re: PAR scope and direction

Purpose mentions ATPGs - Automatic Test Program Generators. I agree it should expanded. Generally, I think you're right with your overall assessment, Jon - the one thing I'd maybe differ on is that the Need is really an explanation for the sponsor (TTSC) and IEEE-SA RevCom (Review Committee) to just...

Re: PAR scope and direction

I'm happy with that. I think it adequately deals with "what is currently missing", but there's probably a knock-on effect on Heiko's second paragraph, which also refers to "board and system level"; it's the latter paragraphs that (try to) address why we need a way to manage and co-ordinate the stand...

Re: PAR scope and direction

Seems like a fair start, Heiko, thanks. Attempting to "wordsmith" the first sentence: While many standards exists at the device level, with diverse feature sets, there is currently no standard that provides for aggregation of these or the management and coordination between such standards from a boa...

Site CMS Software Update - Joomla 3.8.8

The main site Content Management Software has now been updated to Joomla 3.8.8 - This is a bug-fix and security update. In the background, I've also changed a few settings to improve security, following recommendations from the Joomla development team; none of these will have any effect on normal us...

Re: PAR scope and direction

Collated material on "Need" (essentially a copy of Brad's slides: http://files.sjtag.org/StudyGroup/SG_Meeting_36_bgvt_subset.pdf) STAM Need (pre-Study Group): A standardized method is needed to coordinate component access topologies, interface constraints, and other dependencies at the board and sy...

Re: PAR scope and direction

Are we sure that's right though? I think the "producers" we're talking about are probably not the creators of the interfaces (although that is possible) but instead are producers of some "part" that embodies one or more interfaces. I don't think that affects what the description is of, so I still le...

Re: PAR scope and direction

I'm wondering if we really have a "smallest unit"... If I go back to Brad's post on the previous page and the second diagram therein, we could be including the internal bridging between two interfaces within a chip, and we could also be dealing with the linkage between interfaces on blocks of IP wit...
